Live in Las Vegas

The number of the greatest male crooners who emerged from the East Coast’s Italian-American community is staggering. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Perry Como, Al Martino, Tony Bennett, Frankie Laine – all were born of Italian parents with very Italian names, not to mention Mario Lanza, continuing the great Caruso tradition. Standing alongside these great names as one of the illustrious group of Italian-American crooners is Vic Damone. This CD is a recording of one of Vic’s appearances in Las Vegas in 1969, and his performance goes a long way to explaining why he spent decades as a Vegas mainstay. In the pantheon of the great crooners who were such a pivotal part of the popular music scene in the post-war era, Vic Damone was up there with the best of them.
