The Last Of The Great Blues Singers
The Last Of The Great Blues Singers

Robert Johnson
Styles: Blues, Fabulous
Catalogue Number: FABCD102
25 recordings by the most famous of all pre-war Blues singers. Johnson’s style and influence over later generations of singers such as Muddy Waters led directly to the ‘Blues Boom’s’ of the 1960’s. Guitarists of the stature of Eric Clapton and Keith Richards constantly acknowledge their debt to Johnson who was murdered in 1936 before enjoying any meaningful commercial success. In the early 90’s the first reissue of his recordings on CD climbed into the US album charts and sold over a quarter of a million copies.
