Acrobat’s acclaimed series “Jukebox Hits” continues to present every Billboard charted hit by the most significant R&B performers of the 40s and 50s. Amos Milburn was hugely influential decades after his heyday as his hits were picked up but numerous Rock bands. His greatest hit “Chicken Shack Boogie” has been recorded by scores of artists and is now considered a Rock and Roll standard as well as an R&B standard. His drinking songs are now legendary and songs like “One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer” and “Bad, Bad Whiskey” also became widely recorded by artists like George Thorogood. Amos was equally adept at the smooth Blues ballad, several of which gave him huge hit records and are of course featured here. This comprehensive hits package focuses entirely on his most commercially successful recordings between 1948 and 1953.
