The 1950s British Hit Parades - The Hits We Missed

Acrobat Music’s unique, completist and popular series comprising annual collections of every record which entered the chart during the ‘50s and ‘60s has undergone some changes in approach over the years, one of the most important of which is the inclusion in recent years of records which only featured in one of the minor charts provided by the emerging roster of music journals and magazines. The earlier years only featured tracks which charted in the then-definitive New Musical Express chart. During those years, there were records which only showed up in the charts in Melody Maker, Music Week/Record Mirror, so were not included in our original collections, so we have pulled all those together into this set, so that enthusiasts who want to have a complete set can fill the gaps. It includes some collectable and fascinating obscurities alongside some lesser-known tracks by major artists.
