For half a century now there have been many clubs, specifically in London, with Hep Kats et al diggin’ rockin' music, i.e. rock 'n' roll, rockabilly, rhythm 'n' blues, soul, latin and other crazy music from the 30's to the 60's, fuelling a re-issue market that continues through to this day. Hidden Charms is one these clubs, and to celebrate this, Jakester Inc. and Rhythm And Blues Records present this collection, slippin’ snugly into the 'Rumba Blues Series' with a selection of latin inflected recordings well to the fore, i.e. rumbas, boleros and tumbaos, and four tracks featuring the N'Orleans inverted son clave. Also we include interviews with Stuart 'Wildwax' Wester and Jake Vegas, musing over London's past bountiful club scene, from their perspective. The music on this disc covers many genres, and alongside the above mentioned there is also big band blues, soulful r'n'b, exotica and jazz too. This CD contains tracks which have not been re-issued before, chosen by the resident disc jockeys Jake Vegas, Snakester, Michael J and The Outsider.
